    Bookshelf Tour

It is time for an extensive bookshelf tour! I’ve been wanting to make one of these for a while but never had the time to take all the photos, so I put it off. My bookshelf is changing constantly as I get more books and give others away (they usually go to my English teacher). By the end of the month, my shelf will probably look different. I still wanted to do this post, though. I believe that you can learn a lot about a person by what’s on their bookshelf. The books they keep and cherish can say something about them. I have a pretty simple bookshelf. I don’t…

Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV Show Review

Hey, everyone! Since all of the episodes for the Percy Jackson TV show are out, and I have watched them all, I wanted to write a review for it. I have been waiting for this show for years, and now that I’ve seen it, I have a lot of thoughts. There will be TV show spoilers in this review! The first two episodes were not my favorite. There was a lot of condensed information, and it was very fast-paced. There were some major points in the book that weren’t included, such as the hellhound appearing during the capture the flag game and Percy learning about his sword. He never gets…

    2023 Reading Challenges

Happy New Year, everyone!! I can not believe that we are officially in 2023. This past year went by way too fast; it literally feels like the beginning of 2022 was only a couple weeks ago. This year, I decided to participate in a few reading challenges. I’ve never done one before and they always look like a lot of fun, so I decided to try some this year. For 2023, I’ll be doing the 12 Reading Challenge, Beat the Backlist, and Let Us Read Middle Grade. The 12 Reading Challenge created & hosted by shadowbooker on Instagram I know I shouldn’t be adding more books to my TBR, but…

I Need Your Help for The 12 Reading Challenge

Hey, everyone! Happy New Year’s Eve! I can’t believe we are at the end of 2022. This post is going to be super short. I’ve decided to participate in some reading challenges for 2023 and for this one, I need your help. I’ve seen other bloggers do the 12 Reading Challenge, and even though I don’t need to add more books to my TBR, I thought it looked fun. For the challenge, you read 12 books recommended by 12 people in 12 months. It’s hosted by shadowbooker on Instagram. Put your recommendations in the comments and I’ll add them to the list. If the number exceeds 12, I’ll use a…

High School in Books/Films vs. High School in Real Life

If you’ve read a YA book or seen a film with teenagers, you’ll know that high school is portrayed very differently than it actually is. Today, I’m comparing high school in books and film to high school in real life. This is meant to be fun and humorous (and a little sarcastic), not critical. Disclaimer: I will be comparing the fictional schools to how schools are in the United States, specifically the west coast. Cliques For this one, it’s not entirely untrue, but it’s not the most realistic. There are cliques and you can see some of them together at lunch, but it’s not like in the movies. You know…

    Making a TBR Jar

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Happy late Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates. I hope you had a great holiday. Today I have a bit different post: I’m showing you how I made my TBR jar. I’ve been wanting to make one of these for a while. I started making it a few months ago, but then got busy. So I took advantage of some free time and was able to finish it! I didn’t have an actual jar and I didn’t want to go buy one, so I ended up using an empty ice cream container. Talenti is one of my favorite ice cream brands, especially because…

Bookish Merchandise I Own and Merch I Want

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I was looking at bookish merchandise the other day (because who doesn’t want that?) and it got me thinking that I could do a post on it. So, today I will be sharing the bookish merch that I have and some that I want to have. I’m linking where you can buy these for most of the products. I don’t know where some of them are from (they were gifts) so I won’t be able to link those. Merch I Own The Lightning Thief necklace I’m pretty sure this was given to me either for a birthday or Christmas. This kind of…

My Favorite Quotes From Books | Part 2

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been pretty busy with Camp NaNoWriMo, so I haven’t had as much time to work on posts. But I’m trying to keep them as balanced as possible. Today, I’m doing part two of my favorite quotes from books. I did the first post back in January, after being inspired by a conversation I had with a friend. I realized a little while ago that I never followed up. Click here to read part one. *Goodreads pages are linked through the images. I think a lot of people could relate to this quote. It’s fun to dream about something you want or…

54 Thoughts I Had While Watching Heartstopper

I HAVE FINALLY WATCHED IT!! I read the entirety of Heartstopper a little while ago (I can’t wait for Volume 5!) because I am very much a “book before film” person. Afterwards, I couldn’t wait to watch the show because everyone was raving about it. Instead of writing a composed and fully thought-out review, I am sharing my unfiltered thoughts I had while watching Heartstopper. Most of time, it was just me obsessing over how adorable Charlie and Nick are and comparing the scenes in the film to the book. And yes, I know 54 thoughts are a lot, but they’re very short. I also drew this digital art portrait…

Reacting to Poor Reviews of Books I Love

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I have been trying to finish the incomplete posts that are sitting in my drafts folder and this is the one that I was able to write. Today’s post is a bit different than most, but I saw Riddhi @ Whispering Stories do this a while ago and it looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to do my own version. I will be reacting, or responding, to poor reviews of books I love. Disclaimers: I am not trying to spread hate–everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that. This is just for fun, I do not…
