My Two-Year Blogiversary!

Two years ago, I published my very first post on this site. It changed my life. I honestly can not believe it has been two, whole years since I started my blog.

Pages of Starlight has evolved and changed a lot since I started it in December of 2020. It was during the peak of COVID and I was in the middle of my freshman year of high school, which was online and not very entertaining. There were also personal things in my life that weren’t going well. I wanted to be able to focus on something other than the world around me. So I created this blog to focus on one my favorite things: books.

I’m so grateful for everyone who reads my posts and supports me. I wouldn’t be blogging still if not for all of you. This blog has been my escape for the past few years and I hope it can continue to be for many years to come. One exciting thing that happened recently was that the blog passed 10k all-time views! That is so crazy to think about.

Blogging has opened my mind up to so many new things. I read more diversely now and have started venturing into adult books, which isn’t something I expected to do. I’ve discovered so many new books and it’s introduced me to all of you, who are amazing people to connect and interact with. I love being able to obsess over books with other people. I get to ramble (or rant) about all things book-related and it makes me really happy.

My Favorite Blog Posts

54 Thoughts I Had While Watching Heartstopper – Heartstopper is one of the–if not the–best show I’ve seen this year. It was adapted so well and I had a blast just rambling out my thoughts into an incoherent blog post.

2022 Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag – This is always one of my favorite annual posts to do. Getting to talk about the books I’ve read so far in a year is so fun. Making the graphics is also really enjoyable.

16 Books for my 16th Birthday – I compiled a list of the books that have a special place in my heart. They brought me into reading, opened up my reading experiences, and/or have become favorites of mine.

Pretty Deadly Words #2|In Which I Ramble About my WIP – This post was so fun to write. I got to ramble about my WIP and share how it was going. I am hoping that I will eventually finish it and get it to a spot where I feel that it’s publishable. I’m not sure when that will happen, but I’m crossing my fingers that it will be sometime in the near future.

Thank Yous

I did thank yous last year, but there are so many amazing people I’ve met this year, so we’re doing it again. There are so many people I’m grateful for that it’s inevitable I’ll forget people. This post would be extremely long if I mentioned everyone. Just know that if I’ve read any of your blog posts, you mean so much to me.

Maith, thank you for being my first follower–I still remember when you emailed me, introducing yourself. I hope you’re doing okay! // Rue, you’ve also been here from the beginning and I’m so grateful for that! // Suhani, the comments you leave on my posts are the sweetest! // Kaya, your blog is one of the first I discovered and inspired me to start mine! // Aria, I’m so glad that you’ve continued Let’s Talk Bookish, I love participating in it! // Jahnavi, your poems are always gorgeously written! // Vanya, your posts are always super interesting to read! // Cherelle, I hope you’re doing okay! // Georgia, I enjoy reading your posts and have always thought that your blog name is awesome! // Ritz, I met you early in my blogging journey and still remember the first time we talked. I hope you’re doing well! // Anoushka and Saima, the comments you leave on my blog never fail to make my day! // Marie and Nyx, your posts are always so detailed! I especially love your blogging and recommendation posts! // Dini, I love reading your posts and love the panda-themed blog design! (they’re my favorite animal!)

Q&A

I’d like to do a Q&A in celebration of two years of blogging. I’ve never done before and to be honest, you guys don’t know that much about me, so I thought it was about time. You can fill out the form I embedded below, or if it doesn’t show up, here’s a link for it! Feel free to put them in the comments if it’s easier.

Feedback

The last time I did a feedback form was my 6 month blogiversary. My blog has changed a lot since then, so I thought now would a good time to get some updated feedback. The form isn’t too long, so I’d appreciate if you took some time to fill it out. If the embed doesn’t show up, here’s a link.

When is your blogiversary? What are some things you’ve gotten from blogging?
