Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2023

I almost never do Top Ten Tuesdays expect for this prompt now. I love learning about new releases, even when it does expand my TBR. I haven’t been keeping up with new releases recently, so I went searching and found a bunch of soon-to-be-published books that sound super interesting.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl where there is a topic and you make a list that best fits it. Today’s topic is Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2023.

Friday I’m in Love by Camryn Garrett|YA Contemporary|Release Date: January 10, 2023
I love the concept behind this story! Mahalia can’t have her Sweet Sixteen, so she arranges a Coming Out Party instead. I think I’ll enjoy this book, and the cover definitely gives it extra points.

Swift the Storm, Fierce the Flame by Meg Long|YA Science Fiction Fantasy|Release Date: January 17, 2023
I read Cold the Night, Fast the Wolves recently and this is the sequel for it. It’s narrated by Remy, who was a side character in Wolves. I’m excited to read her story and explore the different planets in the Edge Worlds.

Heartstopper: Volume 5 by Alice Oseman|YA Contemporary Romance|Release Date: February 2, 2023
I don’t want Heartstopper to end but this is the last volume of the series. I can’t wait to see how all the characters’ relationships develop and where they end up.

Nightbirds (Nightbirds #1) by Kate J. Armstrong|YA Fantasy|Release Date: February 28, 2023
Besides the gorgeous cover, this book sounds amazing! Fantasy and historical fiction are two of my favorite genres, so putting them together is a fabulous idea.

Dear Medusa by Olivia A. Cole|YA Contemporary|Release Date: March 14, 2023
This book sounds like a powerful and hard-hitting read. I want to read more poetry and this seems like a great one to start with.

Flowerheart by Catherine Bakewell|YA Fantasy|Release Date: March 14, 2023
A cottagecore fantasy romance sounds so good. The cover is so pretty and I have a feeling this will be both lighthearted and heartbreaking.

The Sun and the Star by Rick Riordan & Mark Oshiro|MG Fantasy|Release Date: May 2, 2023
I’m so happy that Nico and Will are getting their own book! Nico has been through so much and we never get to know Will very well. I need to do a three-series PJO reread bingo at some point. I’ve forgotten a lot of things.

Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli|YA Contemporary|Release Date: May 2, 2023
I haven’t read any of Becky Albertalli’s books, but I want to and maybe I’ll end reading her new release first. I love seeing LGBTQ+ rep and this seems like a perfect read for it.

Everyone Wants to Know by Kelly Loy Gilbert|YA Contemporary|Release Date: June 13, 2023
I’ve read two of Kelly Loy Gilbert’s books and they were both amazing. I have no doubt this one will be as well. I haven’t read anything set on a reality show, but I love the play on words for the show name.

Dance of the Starlit Sea by Kiana Krystle|YA Fantasy|Release Date: June 20, 2023
I love the title of this book! It’s so pretty and the story sounds amazing as well. And it’s another romantic cottagecore book, which sounds very appealing.

Are you looking forward to any of these books?
What are some of your anticipated releases for 2023?
