WWW Wednesday #4

Hello, happy Wednesday! I hope you’re well. Here is my current reading situation.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and how it works is I answer three question about what I’m currently reading, what I recently finished reading, and what I plan to read next.

The three W’s:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

I’m currently reading The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages by Trenton Lee Stewart. It’s pretty good so far. It’s been taking me forever to finish this series, because I had to get the book, so I’m glad I’ll able to finally read it.

Synopsis: “Some time has passed since the inimitable quartet of Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance have had a mission together. But with the arrival of a new Society member — and a new threat — they must reunite to face dilemmas more dangerous than ever before, including the villainous Mr. Curtain and a telepathic enemy tracking their every move, not to mention a dramatically preteen Constance.

In its triumphant return, the Society encounters all new challenges, but the series’ trademark sly humor, sweet camaraderie, hairsbreadth escapes, and mind-bending puzzles are all as engaging as ever. Fans of the series will be thrilled to see the Society has grown up a little with them, while a new generation of readers will fall in love with these irresistible adventures.”

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

I recently finished reading Elske (Tales of the Kingdom #4) by Cynthia Voigt. It was an enjoyable read, though there were a few things that I didn’t especially like.

Synopsis: “Two Women
Elske — a girl with no future, until her grandmother’s sacrifice saves her from certain death.
Beriel — an imperious princess, determined to claim the kingdom that is her birthright.
Fate brings them together, both exiles, one servant to the other. To Beriel, the mistress, Elske offers steadfast loyalty and courage — hard to come by in her dangerous quest to regain the throne she has been denied by treachery. To Elske, the handmaiden, Beriel’s proud example provides a perhaps even more precious gift — the strength to find her true self.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

I’m planning on reading Winterkeep (Graceling Realm #4) by Kristin Cashore next. I just received this book in the mail a few days ago and I’m excited to start reading it.

Synopsis: “Something is rotten in the heart of Winterkeep…

Four years after Bitterblue left off, a new land has been discovered to the east: Torla; and the closest nation to Monsea is Winterkeep. Winterkeep is a land of miracles, a democratic republic run by people who like each other, where people speak to telepathic sea creatures, adopt telepathic foxes as pets, and fly across the sky in ships attached to balloons.

But when Bitterblue’s envoys to Winterkeep drown under suspicious circumstances, she and Giddon and her half sister, Hava, set off to discover the truth–putting both Bitterblue’s life and Giddon’s heart to the test when Bitterbue is kidnapped. Giddon believes she has drowned, leaving him and Hava to solve the mystery of what’s wrong in Winterkeep.

Lovisa Cavenda is the teenage daughter of a powerful Scholar and Industrialist (the opposing governing parties) with a fire inside her that is always hungry, always just nearly about to make something happen. She is the key to everything, but only if she can figure out what’s going on before anyone else, and only if she’s willing to transcend the person she’s been all her life.”
