    I’m Back!! | Life Update/2023 Wrap-Up

Hey, everyone!! I am back! I know it’s been an extremely long time; I didn’t mean to disappear for ten months but life got busy, and blogging took a seat on the back burner. I was having a bit of blogging burnout in March. I stopped to focus on school, but then I was booked up for nearly the whole summer, then senior year started, which doesn’t really need an explanation, and now we’re here. So, a little life update. Here’s a quick rundown of the major things that have happened since last March and how my life is going now: Last school year:✈️ I went to Chicago for a…

March 2023 Wrap-Up | in which i disappear for most the month

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I am so sorry that I disappeared for over two weeks; I had not been planning to do that. It’s been a busy month and blogging has been set aside for a while. And I know I say this every month, but I’m hoping April will be better. But seeing as I’m going to be gone all of spring break, that might not work out so well. ARC Review: Of Starlight and Bone by Emily Layne

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. After two years of blogging, I finally got Netgalley and this is the first book I read from it. I’m glad to say it was a good start! I probably won’t be using Netgalley too often in the immediate future, since I don’t have many books on it, but we’ll see. Of Starlight and Bone was in the Read Now section, and it was one of the few YA books there. February 2023 Wrap-Up | a short month that feels long

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I have been pretty busy this past week and haven’t been able to work on posts as much. I’m hoping March will be a better month for the blog, so we’ll see. BOOKS READ I read 7 books this month, which I’m really surprised about! I had a busy schedule in February and it was a short month, so I didn’t expect to read almost twice as many books as I did in January. An Arrow to the Moon by Emily X.R. Let’s Talk Bookish: Reading Goals

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I’m sorry that I’ve been a bit spotty these past few weeks; school has been busy and I’m also applying for summer programs, which all have extensive applications. I meant to do an LTB post last week, but I never got to finish it, so I’ll probably post it at a later date as a non-LTB post. Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and hosted by Aria @ Book Nook Bits where we discuss various topics and share our opinions. Today’s topic is Are Reading Goals Worth It? (suggested by Aria). Prompts: We’re two months…

Review: The Ones We Burn by Rebecca Mix

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. The review for today is going to be a little bit different than most. The Ones We Burn by Rebecca Mix has a lot of controversy on Goodreads. It’s been accused of being a reverse racism story and being antisemitic. This review is going to be less of “what I liked vs. what I disliked” and more of a discussion stating my opinion on the controversy. Title: The Ones We BurnAuthor: Rebecca MixGenre: YA Fantasy RomanceSeries: NonePage Count: 462 (hardcover) Monster. Butcher. Bloodwinn. Ranka is tired of death. Give a Book Tag

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m doing another book tag, the Give a Book Tag. I found out about this tag from Aster Marie @ Happy Bookish After, who did it a while ago, and immediately liked the concept of it. The tag was originally created by Katherine Zofrea on YouTube. While the giving season is usually thought of as the holidays, it’s never bad to be in the habit of giving. Let’s get into it! Give a book to make someone smile The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Let’s Talk Bookish: Do You Read Reviews and Spoilers Before or After?

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. This is my first LTB post of the year and I anticipate many more in the coming months. This was my highest category for posts last year, so I’m curious to find if that happens this year too. Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and hosted by Aria @ Book Nook Bits where we discuss various topics and share our opinions. Today’s topic is Do You Read Reviews and Spoilers Before or After? (suggested by Jillian @ Jillian the Bookish Butterfly). Prompts: Do you like looking at reviews for books before you read them? Is reading reviews important to…

January Wrap-Up | a cold and wet start to the year

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Sorry for missing Friday; I didn’t have any posts completed and I had an evening event for school that I had to attend, so I didn’t get to finish anything. Today I have my wrap-up for January. It was a very cold and rainy month, made more unpleasant because my house doesn’t have heat at the moment. We haven’t had heat or AC since May 2022. It was a very cold winter. But, we should finally be getting our heat back sometime next week. Fingers crossed it actually happens. Also, we reached 200 followers!! Thank you to everyone who supports and has…

    Chinese New Year Book Tag

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. As some of you know, the Chinese/Lunar New Year began on Sunday. Lunar New Year is one of the most important celebrations of the year for many Asian countries. It usually begins on a new moon in January or February, and the festivities last 15 days, up until the first full moon of the lunar calendar. The zodiac cycle for Lunar New Year is different than that of Western culture. In Asian countries, there is a twelve-year cycle of zodiac animals. Your zodiac animal depends on the year you were born. For 2023, it will be the Year of the Rabbit. Previous…
