Wrap-Ups

November Wrap-Up | the end of the year is approaching fast

I literally forgot that wrap-ups were a thing. I was thinking about what post to put out today and I realized on Saturday that I hadn’t started a wrap-up post for November. Luckily, I was able to get this done on time. One more month until 2023!

BOOKS READ

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh|πŸ“–|β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…
This has those Spirited Away vibes, as it was pitched. The worldbuilding and relationships were my favorite part of the story. Mina and the trio were amazing, as well as Mina with Mask, Dai, and Miki.

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman|πŸ“–|β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…
I’m not sure what I was expecting with these stories, but it definitely wasn’t what I got. I’ve always known Norse mythology stories are a little brutal, but maybe not that brutal. Nevertheless, really fun to read!

Six Crimson Cranes (Six Crimson Cranes #1) by Elizabeth Lim|πŸ“–|β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜….5
My first book by Elizabeth Lim and I am happy that I loved it! The characters are all so well written and the sibling relationship was so enjoyable to read about.

CURRENTLY READING

The Dragon’s Promise (Six Crimson Cranes #2) by Elizabeth Lim

I’m a little under halfway through this and am really enjoying it so far! I enjoyed seeing Seryu more and hope he’ll appear again soon. I am a little nervous though because it seems like a love triangle could be forming and I don’t like love triangles. I find them annoying and that it creates unnecessary drama in a book.

BLOGS I DISCOVERED

Mauve Mumblings – This blog is run by Amaya. I love the blog’s aesthetic and design–the colors are so pretty! I also love how engaging her posts are.

I did some writing this month, finally! I normally like to write things in order of the plot, but I had no idea what to write during the last chapter, so I skipped it for now and moved onto the epilogue. I haven’t written a lot, but it’s going well so far. It’s from a different character’s perspective and it’s been fun to write from a different POV. I’m hoping writing the epilogue will spark some ideas for how to end the last chapter.

🎬 TV Shows and Movies: I watched Turning Red earlier this month and really enjoyed it. It’s not Disney’s best movie, but I like how it ended and the songs that the band played were very funny. I also watched both Enola Holmes movies. Those were so fun. I started the first one, like, two years ago but never finished, so I rewatched it and then watched the second one. Enola and Tewkesbury’s banter is everything. I recently watched Good Night Oppy, which is about the Opportunity and Spirit mission to Mars. It was really well done and so sweet. It is a perfect movie if you’re interested in anything space-related.

πŸ“š The reading program I participate in ended. My Mondays and Wednesdays are now replaced by mentoring for my school. My first one was yesterday and it went really well! I helped someone in math and I think I was able to explain the concept in an understandable way. He seemed to understand it better afterward, so I’m taking that as a good thing!

πŸ‚ My Thanksgiving break was pretty good. I was able to sleep in which was so nice. I desperately needed the sleep. I honestly don’t remember a lot of what I did since the days kind of blurred together. I had a lot of free time though, which I was glad about. It gave me time to do what I wanted, like working on blog posts. I also practiced my violin 6 times in my 9 day break! That’s a very good achievement.
