WWW Wednesday #7

Hey, everyone, happy Wednesday! I’ve done some really good reading this week, so I’m going to get right into the post.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and how it works is I answer three questions about what I’m currently reading, what I recently finished reading, and what I plan on reading next.

The three W’s:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

On my journey to finish all the books on my bookshelf, my next one is Millicent Min, Girl Genius by Lisa Yee, the first in the trilogy. I’m not that far into it, but it’s pretty good so far.

Synopsis: “Millicent Min is having a bad summer. Her fellow high school students hate her for setting the curve. Her fellow 11-year-olds hate her for going to high school. And her mother has arranged for her to tutor Stanford Wong, the poster boy for Chinese geekdom. But then Millie meets Emily. Emily doesn’t know Millicent’s IQ score. She actually thinks Millie is cool. And if Millie can hide her awards, ignore her grandmother’s advice, swear her parents to silence, blackmail Stanford, and keep all her lies straight, she just might make her first friend. What’s it gong to take? Sheer genius.”

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished reading The Princess Bride by William Goldman, Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, and Wizard’s Hall by Jane Yolen. I won’t post the summaries because that will make this post extra long, but the links go to their Goodreads page if you’d like to look at them.

The Princess Bride was a really fun book to read. I remember all the things that happen from the movie and it was fun to read them too. My review.

Everything, Everything was an enjoyable read, though it wasn’t as good as it was hyped up to be. It was still a fun read and it was very entertaining. I’ll be doing a review of it in the next week or so.

I didn’t really like Wizard’s Hall. It was a good read, but I feel like it wasn’t especially planned out. Because it was so short, there wasn’t a lot of exposition. I’m not sure if I’m going to be reviewing it; if I do, it will be in the next few weeks.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m planning to read Stanford Wong Flunks Big-Time by Lisa Yee next. It’s the second book in the Millicent Min/Stanford Wong/Emily Ebers series and the next one on my way to finish my bookshelf.

Synopsis: “Stanford Wong is having a bad summer. If he flunks his summer-school English class, he won’t pass sixth grade. If that happens, he won’t start on the A-team. If *that* happens, his friends will abandon him and Emily Ebers won’t like him anymore. And if THAT happens, his life will be over. Soon his parents are fighting, his grandmother Yin-Yin hates her new nursing home, he’s being “tutored” by the world’s biggest nerdball Millicent Min–and he’s not sure his ballpoint “Emily” tattoo is ever going to wash off.”

Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What are you currently reading?
