The Eximius Blogger Award

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I am very, very excited because the role of Percy Jackson has officially been cast for the TV show! I was so, so happy when Rick Riordan announced this. And the kid is adorable! I could totally imagine him as Percy. I can’t wait for the casting of the other main characters. No matter how old I am when the show comes out, I am going to watch it. PJO was a major part of my childhood and I am very happy that it’s getting the film adaptation it deserves.

Today I will be doing The Eximius Blogger Award, which was created by Riddhi @ Whispering Stories in honor of her reaching 1,000 followers on her blog. I was tagged by Riddhi as well as Tanisha @ The Optimistic Side. Thank you so much to both for tagging me!

Exceptional Thing About Me and my Blog + Favorite Blog Post

One exceptional thing about me is that I’ll always put my best effort into anything I do, big or small. If it’s something I’m really passionate about, like blogging, I’ll put in 110% of effort.

An exceptional thing about my blog is all the support and community that has been formed. An essential part of blogging is the community aspect and I couldn’t be happier with the people I’ve met.

My favorite blog post. . . ahh, it’s so hard to choose! I’ve written a lot of posts that I’m proud of, but one that comes to mind is one I did on the benefits of reading. This probably isn’t my favorite, but it’s one I did recently and had a lot of fun writing. I always like to share my love of reading and in that post, I talked about why I love it. I also love the post I did on the top dos and dont’s for new bloggers. It was for a Let’s Talk Bookish post and I had so much fun writing it.

Exceptional Thing About the Person Who Tagged Me

Riddhi has a bunch of amazing content on her blog, with a lot of variety, including books and music, and great discussion posts. I’ve always admired her involvement in the bookish community and am amazed at how consistent she is on posting.

I haven’t been following Tanisha for as long, but I love the poems she writes! They convey so many emotions in only a few lines and are written beautifully. Her photography is also amazing!

1. What is a book/movie/song that you associate with your favourite festival?

My favorite festival is probably either Chinese New Year or Pride. I’ve never been to a Pride Parade before, but I’ll give a recommendation for each. For Chinese New Year, I’d associate it with Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. It’s inspired by Chinese folklore and includes beautiful artwork, drawn by the author herself. It’s always been and always will be one of my favorite books. For Pride, I’d associate it with the song “Chosen Family” by Rima Sawayama and Elton John. It’s a beautiful song, with deep lyrics and meaning. Many people get kicked out of their homes by their family members for coming out; this song is about creating a safe community for those who experience that.

We don’t need to be related to relate
We don’t need to share genes or a surname
You are, you are
My chosen, chosen family
So what if we don’t look the same?
We been going through the same thing, yeah
You are, you are
My chosen, chosen family

2. If you could live a celebrity’s life for one day, who would that be?

Ooh, a celebrity’s life. Honestly, the lives of celebrities seem kind of chaotic, I’m not sure I’d want to live their life. But if I had to, it’d definitely be either an author or a singer. Both are writers in their own way and it’d be so cool to learn how they get inspiration for what they write about. I’m not sure who I’d want to be exactly, but someone who is either of those.

3. What is the most exceptional natural phenomenon in the world, according to you?

There are so many! Two that I absolutely love are the aurora borealis and bioluminescent shorelines. They’re so incredibly pretty and it’s on my bucket list to see at least one of them in person.

My Questions:

  • What emojis describe you?
  • What movie or TV show would you love to see adapted to film?
  • What is your proudest/most exceptional accomplishment?

What do you think the most exceptional natural phenomenon in the world is? Would you want to live a celebrity’s life?
