Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases for the 2nd Half of 2021

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. There are so many books coming out this year that I want to read and there’s so little time. It seems like every day, I discover a book on someone’s blog that looks interesting and it gets added to my TBR. It’s like a totally unfair imbalance: I finish a book and five more get added to my list. Okay, I’ll stop complaining.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl where there is a topic and you make a list that best fits it. Today’s topic is Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2021.

Rise to the Sun by Leah Johnson|YA Contemporary|Release Date: July 6, 2021
I’m currently reading You Should See Me in a Crown and I’m enjoying it, so I’m looking forward to Johnson’s next book as well. I love her writing and music is also a pretty big part of my life as well, so I think I’ll like this one.

Six Crimson Cranes (Six Crimson Cranes #1) by Elizabeth Lim|YA Fantasy|Release Date: July 6, 2021
First of all, that cover is beautiful. I haven’t read any of Elizabeth Lim’s books, but I’ve heard her books are really good so I’m looking forward to this one. It’s a retelling of The Wild Swans; I’m not familiar with that tale, but either way, I’m excited to read this; the world seems so cool.

You and Me at the End of the World by Brianna Bourne|YA Romance|Release Date: July 20, 2021
I found this while flipping through Goodreads and it seems like a really interesting read. Imagine living in a world where there is only you and one other person? That sounds like it would be pretty lonely, actually. But like the concept of it and I think it will be a fun read.

The Wild Ones by Nafiza Azad|YA Fantasy|Release Date: August 3, 2021
I’ve heard some mixed reviews about this one, but it still looks like a good story, so I’m going to give it a try. And that cover looks amazing. From the synopsis, it sounds like this book will have a lot of strong female protagonists, which I like.

How We Fall Apart (How We Fall Apart #1) by Katie Zhao|YA Mystery|Release Date: August 3, 2021
I really enjoyed One of Us is Lying and this was compared to that, so I think I’m going to like this one. I’ve been trying to find more mystery novels and this seems like the perfect fit. I say mystery is one of my favorite genres, but I don’t actually read that much of it.

The Jasmine Project by Meredith Ireland|YA Contemporary|Release Date: September 7, 2021
This looks like a really cute book! And the synopsis really does remind of To All the Boy’s I’ve Loved Before. The MC’s family sets her up to meet people possibly for dating, trying to let her break free from her previous boyfriend who cheated on her. Sounds like a very fun read.

Not Here to Be Liked by Michelle Quach|YA Contemporary|Release Date: September 14, 2021
The first thing that caught my attention about this book was the school newspaper aspect. I’m on my school newspaper, and while the editor-in-chief position is not be competed over, I’m still looking forward to this.

Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan|MG Fantasy|Release Date: October 5, 2021
Rick Riordan is releasing another book! I repeat, he is releasing another book! And I love that cover; some of the letters in the title have marine animal characteristics on them.

Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World (Aristotle and Dante #2) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz|YA Contemporary|Release Date: October 12, 2021
I loved the first book in this series, so I’m excited to see what comes next in Ari and Dante’s story. I love the characters in these and the dialogue between them makes it a lot of fun to read.

You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao|YA Contemporary|Release Date: November 2, 2021
I’ve heard some mixed reviews about this book, but I’d still like to read it. It seems like it’s going to be an extremely sad book. That cover is also so pretty, by the way.

Are you planning to read any of these books? What are some anticipated release you’re looking forward to?
