6 Month Blogiversary // The Book Blogging Firsts Tag + Feedback Form

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Guess what? 6 months ago, I started this blog! It’s crazy to think about—that half a year has already gone by. Even in the midst of a pandemic, where you’d think time would feel slower, it seems to fly by at the same rate, maybe even faster.

First of all, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate everyone who has supported me and my blog; it means the world to me to know that people enjoy coming and reading my posts. I couldn’t have continued blogging without all of you!

Today, I’m going to be reflecting a bit on the start of my blog by doing the Book Blogging Firsts Tag. I wasn’t tagged for it, but I’ve seen it on a few other blogs and thought it looked fun. So, let’s get started!

First Blog Name and Design

My blog name nor design has changed much since I first started. I fiddled around with themes when I was first starting out, but that was mainly just to see what I liked. I’m actually working a redesign right now because I want to change things up a bit. I have no idea when I’ll be finished with it, so the current design is probably going to be up for a while longer. I’m trying to figure out how to draw some things and it’s taking a while to get it right.

First Blog Post

My first blog post was Welcome to Pages of Starlight and in it, I introduced myself and my blog. I also talked about the naming behind the blog and how it came to be. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great. I was still trying to figure out how WordPress worked, so I was working on getting used to how things worked.

First Book Review

My first review was of A Girl With Borrowed Wings by Rinsai Rossetti. It’s not that bad actually, I think I did a fairly decent job. Even now, I’m still figuring out what the best way to do reviews is for me, like the best way to organize my thoughts, so I think for this one, I did a pretty good job.

First Meme Participated In

A Top Ten Tuesday. It was talking about the favorite books I read in 2020.

First Discussion Post

My first discussion post was a Let’s Talk Bookish post about bookish memes and whether they’re a good use of time or not. Looking back on it, I could’ve done a much better job on it. Explaining things a little better would have been really useful.

First Book Blog I Followed

Ahh, I don’t really remember. I think it might’ve either been Aria @ Book Nook Bits or Kay @ Hammock of Books. Aria’s blog was one of the first blogs I read and I found Kay through her. Both of their blogs are amazing, so make sure to go check them out.

First Follower

Technically it was a family member, but I’m going to go with my first follower through WordPress, which was Maith @ Jovial Pages. She has an awesome blog that I really enjoy reading.

First Book I Read Because of Other Bloggers

I don’t know. There are quite a few books I’ve read because of other bloggers; some include You Have a Match by Emma Lord, Picture Us in the Light by Kelly Loy Gilbert, and Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas.

And that concludes the tag! I also wanted to get some feedback on my blog, to see how I could improve, so I put together a small feedback form that I would really appreciate if you filled out. You can take it below or if that doesn’t work, you can take it here.

How are you doing today? What was the first book you read because of other bloggers?
